...strong cold front will move through the region late tonight...

a strong cold front will move through the southern appalachian
region after midnight tonight...with temperatures quickly falling
below freezing before sunrise. light snow flurries will be possible
in many areas...with light snow accumulations of less than an inch
confined to the higher elevations. breezy northwest winds behind the
front will develop on thursday...and keep temperatures in the 30s
across most of the area. wind chill values will be around 20 degrees
in the valleys...and in the single digits across the mountains. a
second surge of colder air will push into the region thursday
night...with wind chill values plummeting into the single digits for
most areas. wind chill values across southwest virginia and the
mountains of east tennessee will likely fall below zero on thursday
night...which will likely require the issuance of a wind chill
advisory.
