...rains moving back into area next couple of days...
a slow moving weather system will make its way into the upper
tennessee valley and southern appalachians today and will affect the
region through saturday morning. rains today are expected to be
more spotty and lighter...whereas on friday more rain coverage and
heavier rains are expected. the height of the event is expected to
occur late friday afternoon and friday evening when locally heavy rains
are possible in heavy showers.
by saturday morning...rainfall amounts are forecast to range from
1-2 inches along the southeast kentucky border to 2-3 inches along
the north georgia border and along the spine of the appalachians.
with grounds relatively dry...no widespread flooding is
expected...however local flooding problems may occur friday night
as the heaviest rains move into the region.
