...wintry weather possible late monday night and tuesday mainly
over the higher elevations...

colder air will push into the region behind a departing low pressure
system monday night and tuesday. rain showers will mix with and
change to snow showers over the higher elevations by late monday
night...with snow showers continuing tuesday. while some wet snow
flakes may mix in with the rain showers at times over valley
locations...no snow accumulation is expected in these areas at this
time.

it is still early...and any snow accumulations in the higher
elevations will be highly dependent on the actual track and speed
of the system. however...at this time it appears that 1 to 4
inches of snow may accumulate over the higher terrain of east
tennessee and southwest virginia...mainly at elevations above 3000
feet...by tuesday evening. some locally higher amounts may occur at
the highest elevations.
