[Etskywarnings] Special Weather Statement

...strong winds possible late tonight into friday across the
region...

a strong cold front will move across the southern appalachian
region around sunrise friday morning. a strong southwesterly wind
flow aloft is expected to develop ahead of this front after
midnight tonight... with strong winds of 30 to 40 mph and gusts up
to 60 mph affecting mainly the higher elevations above 2500 feet.
in the valleys below 2500 feet...southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph
with gusts of 35 mph will be common tonight into friday morning.

a high wind warning is in effect for elevations above 4000 feet from
midnight tonight through friday afternoon...while a wind advisory
is in effect for elevations above 2500 feet. this situation could be
particularly dangerous to people driving high profile vehicles in
the higher elevations. stay tuned to noaa weather radio...or your
favorite radio or tv station...for further updates and possible
upgrades to warnings or advisories.

advisories or warnings is conditions deteriorate.

In Virginia: Bristol City, Lee, Norton City, Russell, Scott, Washington, Wise.
