the national weather service in morristown has issued a 
 
* severe thunderstorm warning for... 
anderson county in east tennessee... 
this includes the city of clinton... 
claiborne county in east tennessee... 
union county in east tennessee... 
this includes the city of maynardville... 
 
* until 1100 pm edt 
 
* at 1007 pm edt...national weather service doppler radar indicated a 
line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size 
hail...and destructive winds in excess of 70 mph.  these storms 
were located along a line extending from 8 miles west of 
harrogate-shawanee to 15 miles north of clinton to 37 miles west of 
clinton...or along a line extending from middlesboro to 8 miles 
southwest of la follette to 13 miles northwest of wartburg...and 
moving southeast at 40 mph. 
 
* severe thunderstorms will be near... 
tazewell by 1025 pm edt... 
maynardville by 1030 pm edt... 
clinton by 1040 pm edt... 
 
in addition to large hail and damaging winds...continuous cloud to 
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. move indoors 
immediately! lightning is one of natures primary killers. remember... 
if you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by 
lightning.
