the national weather service in morristown has issued a freeze 
warning...which is in effect from midnight tonight to 10 am edt 
thursday. a freeze watch has also been issued. this freeze watch 
is in effect from late thursday night through friday morning. 
 
temperatures in the lower elevations will likely fall only into the 
30s tonight...but the higher elevations are expected to drop into 
the 20s by thursday morning. thursday night into friday morning 
temperatures are expected to fall into the lower to mid 20s across 
the lower elevations areawide and from 15 to 20 across the higher 
elevations of the east tennessee mountains. 
 
a freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are expected or 
occurring. these conditions may kill crops and other sensitive 
vegetation that are left unprotected.
