next few days. a canadian ridge of high pressure will continue to 
build south into the southern appalachians and tennessee valley 
through the rest of the week. temperatures will likely dip at or below 
freezing over most locations tonight...and area-wide thursday 
night.

temperatures in the lower elevations will likely drop only into 
the lower 30s tonight...but the higher elevations are expected to 
be in the mid to upper 20s by thursday morning. thursday night 
into friday morning all areas should see temperatures drop in the 
mid 20s. temperatures will be at or below freezing for 1 to 3 hours 
tonight and 2 to 4 hours thursday night. 
 
a freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are expected or 
occurring. these conditions may kill crops and other sensitive 
vegetation that are left unprotected.
