to 10 am edt /9 am cdt/ saturday... 
 
the national weather service in morristown has issued a freeze 
warning...which is in effect from midnight edt /11 pm cdt/ 
tonight to 10 am edt /9 am cdt/ saturday. 
 
cold canadian high pressure will continue across the region 
allowing temperatures to fall below freezing late this evening 
across all areas of east tennessee...southwest virginia...and 
extreme southwest north carolina. in fact...record low temperatures 
may be broken in some areas by saturday morning. temperatures will 
be at or below freezing for several hours saturday morning. 
 
a freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are expected or 
occurring. these conditions may kill crops and other sensitive 
vegetation that are left unprotected.
