strong west to northwest winds between 25 and 35 mph...with higher 
gusts up to 50 mph...will develop across the area today. these 
winds should quickly diminish after sunset. 
 
a wind advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph and/or 
gusts of 40 to 57 mph are expected. winds this strong can make 
driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles... so
