...the national weather service in morristown, tn has issued a flood
warning for the following rivers in tennessee...

clinch river above tazewell tn affecting claiborne...grainger and
hancock counties

runoff from previous heavy rains continues to make its way into
stream channels. flooding is expected to occur along the clinch
river in the grissom island area above norris lake and perhaps as
far upstream as sneedville.

most deaths in floods occur in cars! if you come to a closed or
flooded road, turn around! don't drown! for more details, stay tuned
to noaa weather radio or commercial television or radio that carry
weather information.

* from this afternoon until this evening.
* at 8 am monday the stage was...11.5 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* forecast to rise above flood stage by monday afternoon and
continue to rise to near 12.0 feet by monday afternoon. the river
will fall below flood stage by monday evening.
* at 12.0 feet...flooding of pasture land near grissom island
begins. the city of tazewell, tennessee is not affected by flooding
of the clinch river.




Affected Counties:
In Tennessee: Claiborne, Grainger, Hancock.
