the national weather service in morristown has issued a 
 
* severe thunderstorm warning for... 
blount county in east tennessee... 
this includes the cities of...maryville...alcoa... 
 
* until 530 pm edt 
 
* at 459 pm edt...national weather service doppler radar indicated a 
severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail...and 
destructive winds in excess of 70 mph.  this storm was located near 
maryville...and moving southwest at 10 mph. 
 
* the severe thunderstorm will be near... 
clover hill by 515 pm edt... 
friendsville by 520 pm edt... 
 
in addition to large hail and damaging winds...continuous cloud to 
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. move indoors 
immediately! lightning is one of natures primary killers. remember... 
if you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by 
lightning.
