.northerly winds expected for friday will bring a slight lessening 
to the oppressive heat over the area and will bring temperature and heat 
index readings below the heat advisory thresholds. however...friday will 
still be hot and people are urged to take precautions to not get 
overheated. 
 
stay out of the sun and do any outdoor work in the coolest parts of 
the day. drink plenty of water or other replenishing fluids.
