the national weather service in morristown has issued a 
 
* severe thunderstorm warning for... 
western greene county in east tennessee... 
hamblen county in east tennessee... 
southern hawkins county in east tennessee... 
 
* until 745 pm edt 
 
* at 658 pm edt...national weather service doppler radar indicated a 
severe thunderstorm capable of producing penny size hail...and 
damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.  this storm was located 9 miles 
northeast of russellville...or about 6 miles southwest of 
rogersville...and moving south at 25 mph. 
 
* the severe thunderstorm will be near... 
7 miles east of russellville by 710 pm edt... 
 
this storm has a history of producing destructive winds and large 
damaging hail. seek shelter now inside a sturdy structure and stay 
away from windows! 
 
in addition to large hail and damaging winds...continuous cloud to 
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. move indoors 
immediately! lightning is one of natures primary killers. remember... 
if you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by 
lightning.
