.recent rainfall across the area has provided sufficient moisture 
for areas of dense fog to form. visibilities will be reduced to 
near zero in a few areas. in addition...the dense fog combined 
with freezing temperatures will allow for black ice to form on a 
few roads. use caution when driving this morning.

the dense fog advisory is now in effect until noon est today. 
 
valley fog will persist across northeast tennessee...southwest 
virginia...and the northern cumberland plateau through noon. 
visibilities will gradually improve by early afternoon. 
temperatures remain below freezing in some areas...so black ice may 
still be present...especially on bridges and overpasses. 
 
if driving...slow down...use your headlights...and leave plenty of 
distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you.
