...icy road conditions today...

a strong cold front has moved east through the area this morning.
temperatures dropped rapidly into the 20s behind the front. run
off from overnight rains and ongoing drizzle will result in patches
of ice on many area roadways. scattered snow showers will continue
this morning resulting in light accumulations...especially on
grassy surfaces. northwest winds around 15 mph with higher gusts
will maintain wind chills in the teens and lower 20s.

In North Carolina: Cherokee, Clay.  In Tennessee: Anderson, Bledsoe, Blount, Bradley, Campbell, Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hamilton, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Polk, Rhea, Roane, Scott, Sequatchie, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union, Washington.  In Virginia: Bristol City, Lee, Norton City, Russell, Scott, Washington, Wise.
