...strong gusty winds expected tonight through sunday...
a strong low pressure system will approach the tennessee valley and
southern appalachian region from the west today. as the system
draws closer...a southerly wind will increase overnight. winds
could reach to between 15 and 30 mph with gusts up to 40
mph...especially in the elevated locations of the cumberland
plateau and southwest virginia. these strong winds can be expected
to begin tonight and last through sunday.
in addition to the strong winds...showers and scattered
thunderstorms will move into the area late tonight. the stronger
storms could pull high winds aloft down to the surface...possibly
producing damaging wind gusts.

details or updates.
