...accumulating snowfall possible on tuesday mainly across the
higher elevations...
a fast-moving cold front will approach the southern appalachian
region late tonight...spreading precipitation across southwest
virginia and east tennessee on tuesday morning. warm ground and near-
surface temperatures should prevent much snow accumulations in the
valleys...although up to an inch may be possible in the lower
elevations below 2500 feet. in the higher elevations of southwest
virginia and east tennessee...snow accumulations of one to three
inches will be possible...mainly above 2500 feet. locally higher
amounts will be possible in the highest elevations above 5000 feet.
