...scattered snow showers possible tuesday morning...

a fast-moving cold front will approach the southern appalachian
region late tonight...spreading precipitation across east tennessee
and southwest north carolina on tuesday morning. warm ground and
near-surface temperatures should limit any snow accumulations in the
valleys below 2500 feet...although up to an inch may be quickly
accumulate in any possible snow squalls. in addition...around an inch
of snow accumulations will be possible across the northern cumberland
plateau. temperatures across the valleys of southeast tennessee and
southwest north carolina may remain too warm for the precipitation to
completely change over to snow. overall...snow accumulations should
mainly occur across the higher elevations of southwest virginia and
east tennessee...mostly above 2500 feet.
