...a big weather change is coming to middle tennessee this weekend
and early next week...

...expect some heavy rains...followed by an arctic blast of cold
air...

middle tennessee has enjoyed a relatively mild and quiet weather
pattern over the last three weeks. however...you can expect major
changes to start taking place this weekend...as a low pressure system
cranks up over the mississippi valley...and a blast of cold...
canadian...air takes aim on the mid state.

southerly winds will pump very moist air across our area friday
through sunday...and the potential for heavy rainfall will develop
over northwestern sections...around clarksville and dover. northwest
middle tennessee could see at least three inches of rain between
friday night and sunday morning. then...when the cold front finally
sweeps in sunday night...northwestern areas could get an additional
inch or so. that means...local rain totals over four inches are
possible in northwest middle tennessee by the end of sunday night.
other parts of northern and western middle tennessee will likely see
heavy rainfall as well this weekend...including the nashville area.
right now...it looks like rain totals between two and three inches
will be common over much of the northwest half of middle
tennessee.

an arctic air mass is forecast to roll in next monday and tuesday
...with daytime temperatures climbing no higher than the 30s.
scattered snow flurries are possible monday...just to make the
winter picture complete.
