...snow showers and breezy conditions expected over southwest 
virginia and far eastern tennessee mountains today... 
 
.a fast moving upper level trough of low pressure will move across 
the region today producing snow showers over southwest virginia and 
northern and central sections of the northern tennessee mountains. 
the higher elevations can expect snow accumulations up to 2 inches 
with lighter amounts elsewhere. 
 
besides the snow...brisk northwest winds between 15 and 30 miles 
and hour combined with temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s 
will produce wind chills in the single digits and teens later 
today.

...snow advisory in effect from 10 am this morning to 7 pm est 
this evening... 
 
the national weather service in morristown has issued a snow 
advisory...which is in effect from 10 am this morning to 7 pm est 
this evening. 
 
snow showers will develop across the area this morning with snow 
accumulations up to 2 inches anticipated by this evening. the 
greatest snow accumulations will be across the higher 
elevations and the west and northwest facing slopes. besides the 
snow...brisk northwest winds between 15 and 30 mph will produce 
wind chills in the single digits and teens by late this afternoon. 
 
a snow advisory means that periods of snow are expected or 
occurring...but accumulations are expected to be light. driving and 
walking may be difficult on untreated roadways and sidewalks. be 
prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities. if you 
must travel...slow down and allow extra time to reach your 
destination.

In Tennessee: Blount, Carter, Cocke, Greene, Johnson, Sevier, Unicoi.  In Virginia: Bristol City, Norton City, Russell, Washington, Wise.
