...accumulating snows expected over the higher elevations... 
 
.a cold front will swing through the region tonight. colder air 
will push in...and this will combine with a couple of upper level 
disturbances to bring accumulating snows to portions of the 
area...mainly over the higher elevations. light rain will move in 
tonight...and will mix with and change to snow after 
midnight...starting first in the highest elevations. snow showers 
and flurries can be expected sunday into sunday evening.

...snow advisory in effect from midnight tonight to midnight est 
sunday night... 
 
the national weather service in morristown has issued a snow 
advisory...which is in effect from midnight tonight to midnight 
est sunday night. 
 
light rain will develop...and will quickly change to snow over the 
higher elevations...and may mix with or change to snow over the 
lower elevations by morning. snow showers and flurries can be 
expected sunday into sunday night...especially in the late 
afternoon and early evening. total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 
inches will be possible by midnight sunday night...mainly at 
elevations above 2500 feet. 
 
a snow advisory means that periods of snow are expected or 
occurring...but accumulations are expected to be light.  driving 
and walking may be difficult on untreated roadways and sidewalks. 
be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities. if 
you must travel...slow down and allow extra time to reach your 
destination. 
 
listen to noaa weather radio or your local media for the latest 
updates on this situation.
