...accumulating snowfall expected late wednesday night into 
thursday... 
 
.a cold air mass will remain over the southern appalachian region on 
wednesday night...as moisture associated with a developing low 
pressure system over the gulf coast moves north across the region. 
mostly snow will spread across the watch area during the day on 
thursday...with significant snow accumulations possible...mainly 
over the higher elevations. the higher elevations of southeast 
tennessee and the northern cumberland plateau may see snow mix with 
sleet and rain in the afternoon.

accumulations of 2 to 8 inches possible by evening...mainly in the 
higher elevations. 
 
a winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant 
snow...sleet...and/or ice accumulations. future driving 
conditions may become hazardous...so continue to monitor the 
latest forecasts.
