...strong thunderstorms will affect blount...cocke...greene...
hamblen...hancock...hawkins...jefferson...scott...sevier...sullivan
and washington counties...

at 738 pm edt...national weather service doppler radar was tracking
strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles northwest of
surgoinsville to 6 miles east of eagleton village....moving southeast
at 30 mph.

winds 40 to 50 mph are expected with these storms. these winds can
blow down large limbs or weak trees...and overturn unsecured outdoor
objects. people outdoors should seek shelter from these storms.

In Tennessee: Blount, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Sevier, Sullivan, Washington.  In Virginia: Scott.
