the national weather service in morristown has issued a 
 
* severe thunderstorm warning for... 
sevier county in east tennessee... 
this includes the cities of...sevierville...gatlinburg... 
 
* until 915 pm edt 
 
* at 829 pm edt...national weather service doppler radar indicated a 
severe thunderstorm capable of producing penny size hail...and 
damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.  this storm was located 6 miles 
southwest of pigeon forge...or about 8 miles west of gatlinburg... 
and moving northeast at 20 mph. 
 
* the severe thunderstorm will be near... 
pigeon forge and 6 miles northwest of gatlinburg by 845 pm edt... 
6 miles southeast of sevierville by 855 pm edt... 
 
in addition to large hail and damaging winds...frequent cloud to 
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. move indoors 
immediately! lightning is one of natures primary killers. remember... 
if you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by 
lightning.
