the national weather service in morristown has issued a 
 
* severe thunderstorm warning for... 
mcminn county in east tennessee... 
this includes the city of athens... 
 
* until 500 pm edt 
 
* at 430 pm edt...national weather service doppler radar indicated a 
severe thunderstorm capable of producing nickel size hail...and 
destructive winds in excess of 70 mph.  this storm was located 6 
miles east of athens...and moving northwest at 5 mph.c 
 
a roof has been reported blown off a house in etowah with numerous 
trees and powerlines down. 
 
* the severe thunderstorm will be near... 
athens by 500 pm edt... 
 
lat...lon 3531 8454 3540 8435 3559 8454 3552 8472
