...high fire danger until around sunset across east tennessee as
well as extreme southwest north carolina and southwest virginia...
southwest to west winds will increase this afternoon ahead of a weak
cold front. except for possibly a few sprinkles...no rainfall is
expected with this weak cold front...just some breezy conditions
which should diminish after sunset.
these breezy winds combined with low relative humidities in the 20
to 30 percent range this afternoon...will create a high fire danger
across the region. residents should refrain from outdoor burning
due to the dry and breezy conditions today. wind speeds will be
significantly lower on thursday...and humidities should increase
by about 5 to 10 percent...creating much safer conditions for
outdoor burning.
stay tuned to noaa weather radio...or your favorite tv or radio
station...for later statements and forecasts from your national
weather service.
