...high fire danger continues through sunset across east tennessee as
well as extreme southwest north carolina and southwest virginia...

breezy southwest to west winds will continue into the evening hours
tonight ahead of an approaching weak cold front. speeds of
generally 10 to 20 mph...with occasional gusts up to 25 to 30 mph
...will combine with low relative humidities to create a high fire
danger for the remainder of the afternoon and early evening. no
rainfall is expected with this weak cold front...just the breezy
conditions which should diminish after sunset.

residents should refrain from any outdoor burning due to the dry and
breezy conditions. wind speeds will be significantly lower on
thursday...and minimum humidities should increase by about 5 to 10
percent...creating much safer conditions for outdoor burning.

stay tuned to noaa weather radio...or your favorite tv or radio
station...for later statements and forecasts from your national
weather service.
