the national weather service in morristown has issued a dense fog 
advisory...which is in effect until 9 am edt /8 am cdt/ this 
morning. 
 
recent rainfall and calm winds have aided the development of fog 
across the southern appalachian region this morning. the fog is 
becoming widespread with areas of dense fog forming. in these 
areas...visibilities will be reduced to a quarter mile or less. 
 
a dense fog advisory means dense fog will frequently reduce 
visibility to one quarter mile or less. if driving...slow down... 
use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance between you 
and the vehicle ahead of you.
