the national weather service in morristown has issued a 
 
* severe thunderstorm warning for... 
claiborne county in east tennessee... 
hancock county in east tennessee... 
union county in east tennessee... 
lee county in southwest virginia... 
 
* until 745 pm est 
 
* at 715 pm est...national weather service doppler radar indicated a 
line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size 
hail...and destructive winds in excess of 70 mph.  these storms 
were located along a line extending from 8 miles northwest of 
harrogate-shawanee to 11 miles west of tazewell to 29 miles 
southwest of tazewell...or along a line extending from middlesboro 
to 13 miles north of maynardville to 10 miles southeast of la 
follette...and moving east at 50 mph. 
 
* severe thunderstorms will be near... 
harrogate-shawanee by 725 pm est... 
tazewell by 735 pm est... 
 
in addition to large hail and damaging winds...continuous cloud to 
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. move indoors 
immediately! lightning is one of natures primary killers. remember... 
if you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by 
lightning.
