the national weather service in morristown has issued a 
 
* severe thunderstorm warning for... 
bradley county in east tennessee... 
this includes the city of cleveland... 
mcminn county in east tennessee... 
monroe county in east tennessee... 
polk county in east tennessee... 
this includes the cities of...ducktown...benton... 
 
* until 830 pm est 
 
* at 746 pm est...national weather service doppler radar indicated a 
line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size 
hail...and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.  these storms were 
located along a line extending from 7 miles southwest of cleveland 
to 17 miles south of cleveland to 28 miles southwest of cleveland 
to 40 miles south of cleveland...or along a line extending from 7 
miles southwest of cleveland to 12 miles north of dalton to dalton 
to 12 miles southwest of dalton...and moving northeast at 45 mph. 
 
* severe thunderstorms will be near... 
cleveland by 755 pm est... 
benton by 810 pm est... 
etowah by 825 pm est... 
8 miles northwest of ducktown by 830 pm est... 
 
in addition to large hail and damaging winds...continuous cloud to 
ground lightning is occurring with these storms. move indoors 
immediately! lightning is one of natures primary killers. remember... 
if you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by 
lightning.
