the national weather service in morristown has issued a 
 
* severe thunderstorm warning for... 
mcminn county in east tennessee... 
monroe county in east tennessee... 
this includes the city of madisonville... 
polk county in east tennessee... 
this includes the city of ducktown... 
cherokee county in southwest north carolina... 
 
* until 915 pm est 
 
* at 823 pm est...national weather service doppler radar indicated a 
line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size 
hail...and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.  these storms were 
located along a line extending from etowah to 13 miles northwest of 
ducktown to 19 miles west of ducktown...or along a line extending 
from 6 miles southeast of athens to benton to 12 miles north of 
chatsworth...and moving northeast at 40 mph. 
 
* severe thunderstorms will be near... 
madisonville by 840 pm est... 
ducktown by 850 pm est... 
 
in addition to large hail and damaging winds...continuous cloud to 
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. move indoors 
immediately! lightning is one of natures primary killers. remember... 
if you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by 
lightning.
