the national weather service in morristown has issued a 
 
* severe thunderstorm warning for... 
claiborne county in east tennessee... 
cocke county in east tennessee... 
grainger county in east tennessee... 
this includes the city of rutledge... 
greene county in east tennessee... 
hamblen county in east tennessee... 
this includes the city of morristown... 
hancock county in east tennessee... 
hawkins county in east tennessee... 
jefferson county in east tennessee... 
union county in east tennessee... 
 
* until 945 pm est 
 
* at 908 pm est...national weather service doppler radar indicated a 
line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size 
hail...and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.  these storms were 
located along a line extending from 12 miles southwest of rutledge 
to 8 miles west of morristown to 7 miles south of white pine...or 
along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of maynardville to 
jefferson city to 6 miles east of dandridge...and moving northeast 
at 40 mph. 
 
* severe thunderstorms will be near... 
rutledge and morristown by 920 pm est... 
russellville and bean station by 930 pm est... 
 
in addition to large hail and damaging winds...continuous cloud to 
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. move indoors 
immediately! lightning is one of natures primary killers. remember... 
if you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by 
lightning.
